dance4life Germany wants you as a Dutch Volunteer!

dance4life Germany  is on its way to becoming an official accredited "host" of a European Volunteer. The volunteer will stay/work/live in Bremen/Northern Germany from May 2012 until April 2013.

What´s dance4life? What´s the role of the volunteer?

dance4life Deutschland is Tina and Boris plus 2 nice ladies who work as volunteers and a pool of 16 teamers! dance4life Deutschland has visited 23 schools with approximately 4,250 students in 2011. But we like to grow - with your help and engagement!

The headquarters of dance4life Germany are in Bremen at Cultural Center Lagerhaus (http://www.kulturzentrum-lagerhaus.de/).

One of the dance4life Germany priorities from 2012 on, is the active participation of young people in the decision making process of our organisation. This includes the Implementation of according tools and the improvement of our structures. It is especially this subject, in which we want to involve and include the interest, experience and points of view of you, the European volunteer. The volunteer will especially help in the founding and supporting of the "YouthCouncil dance4life Deutschland". But the real job will be designed with you and your strength and interests.  

Where will the volunteer live & work?

The office of dance4life Germany is at the Kulturzentrum Lagerhaus e.V. in the centre of Bremen. From here we organize Workshops in schools nationwide. Bremen with it's app. 550.000 inhabitants is a socially and cultural attractive spot, in which diversity and antidiscrimination are living principals. The social economic conditions are shaped by particular wealth and social divide including poverty at the same time; living conditions in Bremen correspond to middle and higher European standards.

The Kulturzentrum Lagerhaus is situated in the "Viertel", a famous Bremen district of intense cultural activity, shopping structure and gastronomy, preferred as living quarter especially by students and creative workers. App. 20 groups and initiatives are located at the Kulturzentrum Lagerhaus; the location with its wide spectrum of activities in the fields of culture, migration and ecology is well known and respected as a centre of innovation both in cultural and political terms.

Basic conditions info

EVS / dance4life will pay your rent/food/trainticket/language course... and a little "pocket money". So there will be no costs for you.

 Profile of the volunteer

Must be Dutch. We expect open minded, communication orientated and enthusiastic people. We would like to welcome volunteers, who want to work in a trustfull way with a small team, who are eager to work with young people and appreciate awarm, open environment. Interest in the subject of HIV/AIDS and SRHR is requested. The volunteer has to be between 18 - 24 years old and is motivated to learn the german language. The process of selection will be according to our principles of anti-discrimination, considering gender mainstreaming and diversity (in agreement with the sending organisation); selection and assessment criteria will be communicated in a transparent way.
