Nicholas Munene Mutuma

Nick describes himself as an ambitious self-driven individual who
HOPES to change the world! At 22, he has managed to establish
himself in the film/entertainment industry as a force to reckon
with. The Nation newspaper (Kenya's most read paper) named him one
of the people to look out for in the year 2010.
Munene landed his first acting stint in May 2008 in a locally
produced drama series calledTabasamu. That same year he went on to
clinch a principal role (Richard Mbotela) in an M-Net drama TV
seriesChangeswhich is now in its second season & watched in
over forty countries. His breakthrough on the global entertainment
scene came in 2009 when he got a role as Leo in the MTV HIV/AIDS
awareness series dubbedShuga. He says, "HIV/AIDS has always been
real to me. I have lost friends and relatives and have an aunt who
is living positively. I got tested a few days after we were done
filmingShugabecause I didn't know my status. My character (Leo)
advocated for circumcision, correct and consistent use of condoms,
testing and killing the stigma attached to HIV. Getting tested for
me was my first step in showing my commitment of serving as an
example to Kenyan Youth."
