Among young women aged 15-24, HIV prevalence is nearly four
times that of men in this age category (UNAIDS 2008).
Trends:
There have been statistically significant declining trends in
HIV prevalence among women, as well % having sex under age of 15, %
who have had sex with more than one partner in the last year and %
who have had sex without using a condom among both sexes (UNAIDS
Global Report 2010) The HIV/AIDS Alliance have identified
significant impact of HIV on children and adolescents living with
HIV in Zambia that is not yet adequately addressed (HIV/AIDS
