50,000 young people danced to celebrate life!

dance4life 2008 - a huge success!

This year, 50,000 young people worldwide have taken a stand against HIV and AIDS. Today, these young people from 19 different countries were united live by satellite during the dance4life event. Together they danced to the same rhythm, dancing against AIDS and in support of life!

Netherlands Crowd

Young people took action this year in 19 countries: Germany, Ibiza, Ireland, Kenya, Mexico, Moldova, Netherlands, Russia, Serbia, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Tanzania, Turkey, Uganda, UK, USA, Vietnam, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Through their actions, they have challenged taboos and stigma and raised awareness of HIV and AIDS. These young people are rewarded for their actions with an exclusive entrance ticket to the dance4life event: these tickets are NOT for sale.

Goosebumps satellite Connection
The young people, also known as ‘agents of change’ do not stand alone. They are supported by important and influential ambassadors, such as Archbishop Desmond Tutu and Kofi Annan. The “live” moment when the ‘agents of change’ could see and hear each other via the satellite, together performing the ‘drill’, was a definite ‘goose bump’ moment for all those present.

With acts ranging from DJ Feel in Russia, M.O.G. gospel group in Kenya and La Lupita in Mexico (the list goes on) 29th November was certainly a day to remember for the 50,000 young people worldwide that were present.
