After much deliberation it has been decided that Dance4Life Egypt will cease it's activities in 2008 because of the challenges it faces - like getting the necessary legal status and clearance to receive money from outside of the country to implement the programme. Youth4Life Foundation (the previous NCO in Egypt) is still supporting Dance4Life and Dance4Life International will be working towards re-launching the concept in Egypt in 2009.
Dance4Life launched in Egypt in 2006 with the enthusiastic and energetic support of the Rotary and in 2007 the Youth4Life Foundation was created to take on the role of National Concept Owner in Egypt.
While the Youth4Life Foundation has remained committed to the implementation of the Dance4Life concept in Egypt they worked in a challenging environment. These challenges included getting the necessary legal status and clearance to receive money from outside of the country to implement the programme.
After much effort to find new partners and after much deliberation it was decided that Dance4Life could not be active in Egypt in 2008. However, Dance4Life International will work hard to make the implementation of Dance4Life in Egypt possible again as from 2009. We will be working to identify an NGO to be the National Concept Owner who has the legal status to receive finances from outside of the country and is capable of raising the funds to implement the programme in the coming years. We have already started a number of efforts to get resources to support the re-launch in Egypt.
We would take this opportunity to thank the Youth4Life Foundation who worked so hard to make Dance4Life possible in Egypt, and who are going to continue supporting Dance4Life. We also are grateful for all the support Dance4Life received through The Coca-Cola Africa Foundation.
