dance4life takes to the skies!
19-01-2009
On 29th November 2008 the Oranjebal took place at the Royal Hospital Gardens in London, attended by 350 Dutch expats. The evening raised a fantastic £35,000 for dance4life. Albert Verlinde, a very well known dutch TV presenter, was the entertaining and very funny auctioneer for the evening.
One of the auction items on offer was the opportunity to have your name on the side of a VLM aircraft for a month. After some furious bidding, this lot was finally won by a group of Dutch men living in London, who play football together on Sunday afternoons in Hyde Park. They decided to name the aircraft ‘FC Hyde Park in aid of dance4life’!
This weekend, January 17th, the plane was unveiled! Together with William the Regional Manager of VLM, and Rupert from dance4life International, four representatives of FC Hyde Park broke open a bottle of champagne to christen the new (although temporary) addition to the VLM fleet! So, for the next month, dance4life will certainly be flying high!
