dance4life selected as finalist in 2009 Annual Awards for Excellence in HIV and AIDS Strategic Communication in Africa

In 2008, dance4life was implemented in seven African countries (Kenya, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe) reaching almost 150,000 young Africans and creating at least 120,000 agents of change. dance4life is the biggest regional HIV and AIDS prevention campaign in Africa working with young people aged 13-19 in schools. The Coca-Cola Africa Foundation has been a key supporter of dance4life in Africa.

The awards ceremony will be hosted in Windhoek, Namibia where the Namibian First Lady, Her Excellency Madam Penehupifo Pohamba, will be the Guest of Honour and provide the keynote address.

The winners are selected by an independent panel of judges, comprising of strategic communication practitioners and academicians from the region. And nominations have been received by some of the foremost African strategic communications interventions in previous years' organisations, including Johns Hopkins University Centre for Communication programmes, Family Health International and MTV’s Staying Alive!
