The Schools Projects are in full swing in Bremen, Hannover, Lilienthal and Berlin in Germany. Twelve schools are participating, with a total of 3,000 students. They comprise of the Drill practice, dance and movement workshops, percussion groups, making of art objects, talks and discussions. At the end of the week the school children put on a show for teachers and family showing everything they've done and learnt!

Act4Life

An Operational Team is set-up at each school with children and teachers help motivate the students and raise money for Dance4Life. Each school has a target of €1000, and if they raise it then the students can go to the dance event at the Mercedes-Benz Kundencentrum Bremen. One school has come up with some brilliant fundraisers including: drinking one can of drink less per week or sending three less sms’s per week, the school cafeteria is going to be run by the students, and singing in a shopping mall!

Dance Event

Dance4Life is running a two week-long cultural project in November at the Gesamtschule Bremen-Ost where 600 students will make and decorate wooden panels around the theme of HIV and AIDS, which will then be used as the set for the dance event. 100 of the students will train for two weeks to perform a dance on 25th November, specially choreographed by Royston Maldoom, and accompanied by no less than the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie, with music composed by James Macmillan.

It is hoped that about 2200 people will be at the event, held at the Kundencenter Mercedes- Benz in Bremen. All the schools will also perform, as well professional dance companies, hiphop DJs and rappers such as Steptext, Impuls, and Tanzwerk amongst others. The former BREAKdance world champion (several times over!) Anton Veliu is also going to take part. He is well-known as a choreographer as well as a dancer, and has been involved in several projects incorporating children and dance. DE LooPERS, Corpa Empower your Dreams, and Rapper Christian will also be taking part. It will no doubt be a real achievement for all those taking part.
