2008, Report from Dance4Life Moldova:
In March twenty members of Dance4Life Moldova had a great opportunity, at the beginning of the spring, not just to enjoy the spring school holiday but also get to visit and work with the Dance4life Russia team from Sankt Petersburg.
During the six days, two teams had been working very productively setting up a Hearth Connection Tour together for one of the Sankt Petersburg schools, sharing the experience of being involved in the Dance4Life project and involving other young people to Act4life, getting inspired again and again doing dance and flash mobs in Sankt Petersburg metro and in its streets and finally danced Dance4life drill at the big youth event with in front of 14 000 young people inviting them to join the project!
Really inspiring week!!!
First hours in the 2 days train back home had past very silently. Everyone had a nostalgic feeling …but later we got back to what we really believe we are “Power to change the World and help people be healthier” we sign national songs, we dances, we made all the train aware in the positive sense that Dance4life team from Moldova is here and very active and positive!
We are back home now with a lot of energy and creativity to continue our activities in schools and bring Dance4life project to every young person from Moldova and get the involved!
There are some impressions here of the members of Dance4life team Moldova!
Svetlana Toderas, (Dance4Life Moldova team member): “I felt that we really can change the world. Know I realize better that all our activities are really great and just all together we can beat HIV and AIDS. I believe that the only way to really achieve this is to involve the young people in. Youth are the solution and have a strong voice that need to be heard! Being young I’ll continue to do my best implication in this international project. Dance4Life is a healthy, positive and expressive way to connect young people's hearts, I’m in love with Dance4Life! Expect from me the best! I am properly skilled and I feel no fear! Dance4Life Moldova is the power of youth and the energy of dance”.
2007 Dance4Life Moldova was started in record time, and in November 2007 they will already be: starting the Heart Connection Tour, in an incredible 100 schools; holding Act4Life activities; and holding a Dance4Life Event on 24 November, one week before World AIDS Day.
The Heart Connection Tour started at the G. Asachi Lyceum with about 60 students, who obviously enjoyed learning the drill and discussing HIV and AIDS, so much so that many of them stayed on at the end to carry on talking to the Dance4Life Tour Team. The lauch of Dance4Life in Moldova has created quite a stir in the media, with Dance4Life being described as "an unusual way to inform young people about HIV and AIDS".
All this has been made possible due to a grant by the World Bank. In 2008 Dance4Life Moldova will achieve even more, and with young people being one of the most HIV prevalent groups in Moldova, Dance4Life can make a real impact there.
Here is a message from Dance4Life Moldova: "Moldova is a small country in eastern Europe, maybe you hear about us for the first time, as for us Dance4Life is a healthy, positive and expressive way to connect young people's hearts, we've fallen in love with Dance4Life, expect from us the best, we are properly skilled and we feel no fear! Dance4Life Moldova - the power of youth, the energy of dance!"
