Olga and Varya
Olga and Varya both participated in the dance4life pilot in Russia. Read their experiences:
Olga Pryanichnikova (19, student Foreign Languages) from Moscow, Russia: “I was impressed every time we watched the videos of our presentations. I was glad to find out, that what we do is not in vain. When you are on stage and you see a big audience, which seems to be unorganized, you always get a great desire to give them the information you know they need, at the same time you feel kind of helpless because from on stage it looks like the majority is not paying much attention. But when you watch the video of what you have done the situation appears to be totally different. You see people trying to copy moves, dancing, listening, reacting… And that is very inspiring”.
“It is great to know that what you are doing is important and CAN really bring some change into society. I will not reveal a secret if I say that HIV and AIDS is one of the biggest threats to people’s lives. We should “know the enemy by face”. If we are informed we are protected. dance4life offers a creative solution: people all over the world can express themselves dancing for life and in support of those living with AIDS!”
“My personal goal is to bring a positive change, to help people, to obtain the knowledge and experience of working in such kind of projects.”

Varya Ilinskaya (19, student and working), from Moscow, Russia “I got involved with dance4life because my helpmate told me about the project and invited me to be a volunteer. I think, dance4life is important, because it gives information about the problem of the 21th century and tries to solve this problem, while many people just close their eyes on it. Many people don’t even have information!"
"I take part in dance4life with pleasure. My personal goal is that through the information that I’ve got through the project I am able to protect myself and my loved ones against AIDS.”
