Dance4Life Russia has started its Heart Connection Tour in Moscow, with its new Ambassador, Alexey Vorobyov. They have just brought out a new Newsletter, including info about when Tiesto met the Dance4Life team during his world tour.
2007 Schools4Life began with the Heart Connection Tour in the sixteen different regions in Russia where Dance4Life is. In 2008 Schools4Life will continue in these regions with Skills4Life.
Marina Filimonikhina, a 16 year old Dance4Life volunteer from St. Petersburg said, “I would like to know about HIV and AIDS and be able to inform other people about it. Now I have got a chance to do it.”
2006 Russia ran Schools4Life in twelve different regions in 2006. Looking at the size of the country, you can imagine the load of work that has to be done!
 The training of the tour-team began in the first half of September, with members of the teams coming from around Russia for six days of hard training. Not only were there members from the tour teams who are kicking off Schools4Life this year, but there were also members from five new regions and Moldova who are planning to start next year.  They worked in groups, discussed all aspects of Schools4Life and danced the Drill. A local television network filmed a report about it. Those who had been trained then went back to their regions to continue the tour team training. Schools4Life kicked off at the beginning of October in 40 schools with 4,000 children attending.

 The epidemic of HIV and AIDS in Russia is still at its early stages, which means that with adequate measures it can be stopped and turned around. Therefore it is extremely important that the Russian youth takes part in the Dance4Life project. When you join Dance4Life you not only learn about HIV and AIDS, but you will also develop the right skills to protect yourself and therefore others.
Pilot 2005Russia hosted one big Dance4Life pilot, at the end of 2005/beginning of 2006. The Russians introduced two of the Dance4Life components: Schools4Life and the closing dance event. Cities Moscow, Irkutsk (Siberia), Volgograd and Vladivostok joined the pilot. More cities are to follow!
